Skate Park In Dodoma, Tanzania
After a few years experience in the media industry, one never stops getting amazed by new information out there. Just when you think you have covered an area, something new pops up. It is even more fascinating with architecture for people and spaces. Today I would like to bring to your attention, a nicely done social architecture project using sports to make a change in peoples lives.

The project won a Special Prize at the 2013 IOC / IAKS Awards. The jury was very taken with the idea of “building a skatepark in Tanzania, one of the world’s poorest countries. Students and other teenagers are thus given the opportunity to skateboard in a great park in their free time. They are assisted by instructors from Uganda and Germany; local talents are also given support – and prospects for the future.”
